Ten minutes on Google will reveal hundreds, thousands, of sites debunking Von Daniken and his rubbish, money-making theories.
Most from genuine, scientific, academic, authoritative sources.
As you show von Daniken was outed some years ago however he wrote books that gave pause for thought and to question things which in itself is never a bad thing. And do give him credit for a brilliant imagination .

Re: Unsolved Mysteries

Yes and no, Solo.
If all that stuff was the product of his own original thought (or imagination), one would have to give him a few begrudging kudos.
But, as your link points out, he pinched almost the whole thing from a couple of other blokes and then managed to finesse a book deal.
Apparently, he has "charisma".

You are right about encouraging people to question though.
There is arguably more rationale in Von Daniken's aliens than there is in Noah's Ark for example.

Seek to be happy ..... believe.
Seek the truth .......... doubt

Most people who are able to convince, sway, convert, brainwash others are charismatic however it all depends if you are easy to convince, willing to be swayed, want to be converted and susceptible to being brainwashed

Although long this is An interesting article reviewing the Chariot of the Gods.
