Yes and no, Solo.If all that stuff was the product of his own original thought (or imagination), one would have to give him a few begrudging kudos.
But, as your link points out, he pinched almost the whole thing from a couple of other blokes and then managed to finesse a book deal.
Apparently, he has "charisma".
You are right about encouraging people to question though.
There is arguably more rationale in Von Daniken's aliens than there is in Noah's Ark for example.
