Re: 1,700-Year-Old Roman Mosaic Discovered
Fantastic isnīt it? We were lucky enough to be in Greece at the time they discovered Philip of Macedoniaīs tomb. The archeologists were bringing out pieces of mosaic and laying them on the ground in the patterns they were found in, but covering them over immediately. They told us that exposure to the sun and air would rapidly destroy them. We were very honoured to be taken down into the hole to see the white marble throne they had found, it was still in the side of the big hole, they hadnīt yet removed it. The site at that time looked nothing like the photo on this website, it was literally just a big hole with quite steep sides. It was an amazing experience.Re: 1,700-Year-Old Roman Mosaic Discovered
