Ceanothus

Also known as 'Californian Lilac'. Spotted this one in the village - glorious shade of blue - and covered in bees, which made the bush hum like an electricity sub-station! Most of the bees flew away when I approached - but one or two stayed. They said they were far too busy to pose - so the photos are a bit fuzzy.

Re: Ceanothus

They have been beautiful this year! Unfortunately mine was left in my old garden and has now been thrown away with all the other plants I left (that's what happens when you have to move in a snowstorm)

Magnolias were good too, not much frost so the flowers stayed longer.

Lovely pictures Tabs and dongle, such a beautiful blue.

They come in all different shades of blue I believe, but those you've shown are the best.

Love them!
Ours was busy getting dressed while we were away, so it was a lovely surprise when we came home

Re: Ceanothus

I planted one last autumn, I don't expect anything from it this year but am looking forward to seeing that beautiful blue eventually.

The bees love them, there must be about 20 bees on mine at the moment.
