Re: Sainsburys for the over 70s

There was a film crew from South Today outside Eastleigh Sainsburys this morning, so one stuck around hoping for 15 minutes of fame, but they never did an interview with anyone, so all rather pointless, like me!

Same as ours. We did our weekly shop there this morning and it looked like they'd had no deliveries for days on end with many, many out of stock items. No loo rolls, no kitchen rolls, no tissues, no bleach, no washing powder/liquid, no cheap bleach, no wholemeal bread, no cheddar cheese (plenty of other varieties though ), virtually no beer or spirits but plenty of Antipodean plonk . While we were in there, there was an announcement that the deli counter was flogging everything off at ½ price because they were closing temporarily, so we bought enough sliced ham, etc to last us a couple of weeks.

Now ours can't seem to decide whether they're opening at 7 or 8!

It's time they brought back Ration Books again. We'll soon have dear old Vera singing Whale meat again...

That was the case here too. Got there at 7.55am . They had opened the doors early, the car park was full with cars driving slowly round and round looking for non existent spaces with vehicles blocking the main road for several hundred yards in either direction. Deep joy! Can't wait for the next weekly shop.

Bet those who DIDN'T stockpile are sorry now.

I've just bought two big boxes of "Moon Tigers" in case when the bitey flying things appear they prove to be a vector for covid-19 too.
