Sheer speculation - you might as well say:

The cry baby civil servant might have taken offence at who he was obliged to work for:

a woman of challenged height!!! *
* Patel is 5'3" tall

The civil service have had it their way and the easy way for decades. Along comes a 'firebrand' of a woman and suddenly the civil service don't like it and start moaning and complaining about her. Cummings made it clear that he was going to overhaul the civil service and look what happened to him.

Seems to me it's more of a case of 'you mess with the civil service and they will get you fired or force you to resign'. But of course the media and the civil service are going to 'spin' it as it being them, the poor softy softy fragile as egg shells civil servants that are the victims here and Patel is the big bad wolf who has come to upset them.

Sheer speculation - unless you know the "exact circumstances" .....

What is known is that:

In 2017, Patel was involved in a political scandal involving unauthorised meetings with the Government of Israel which breached the Ministerial Code, ending her tenure as International Development Secretary.

Nope it really is that bad according to the inquiry. In fact the radio reports were astonished that the PM ordered this investigation himself and has now rejected its findings. One LBC caller pointed out the bizarre contrast that on the one hand the government condemns workplace bullying (to protect mental health and the NHS) and then condones workplace bullying by a minister in this instance.

It sends the message that you can do whatever you want if you have sufficient power and influence over the PM.

Apparently she was advised a year ago to show more respect to them. There's really no excuse for bullying and I can imagine a load of claims of harassment or bullying in the workplace will now be in jeopardy of been dismissed.
Or even on social media come to that ... the aggressor can simply claim they didn't realise they were upsetting other people.

I would love it if they'd been more specific as just how bad her level of swearing and shouting was/is.
Any level of swearing and shouting is unacceptable in normal circumstances but particularly if you have taken some ministerial oath to promise to treat your staff and peers with dignity and respect. We have to have some standards in high office. They are meant to set an example.

Was her authority undermined by the civil servants hence her alleged outbursts.

What I find annoying is that the majority of people are automatically coming to the defence of the alleged bullied senior civil servant because that is all the media have reported on, is allegedly how badly HE has been treated. It could be a case that the fault is actually the doing of the civil servant(s) for not treating Ms Patel with the respect she deserves but because cry baby senior civil servant went to the press first to tell (sell) his story, his version of events is the only one that is being believed. He could have been the instigator of the problem(s) but we will not know that until the tribunal case comes to court.
OMG it's been confirmed by an inquiry that BJ himself ordered. He appointed the independent body or whoever they are himself and now he doesn't like their conclusions. You couldn't make this up.

Hi

Human nature, your boss slags you off all the time and makes your life miserable and you do the same in return.

I can do dumb insolence very well.

Re: Senior Home Office official QUITS after vicious rows with Priti Patel

It's Boris Johnson and his gang against the world

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/a...nst-world.html

No sooner does he sack two infamous male bullies – advisers Dominic Cummings and Lee Cain – than along comes an official report declaring that Home Secretary Priti Patel is also a bully. It is said to be the first time a minister found guilty of a serious breach of the ministerial code has not resigned.

Boris has urged Tory MPs to 'form a square around the Prittster'. There has not been much evidence of regret over Mrs Patel's conduct in No 10. The Prime Minister has again opened himself up to the charge that there is one law for senior Tories and another for the rest of humanity. Just as he was accused in May of protecting Cummings after it was revealed that the chief adviser had broken the lockdown, so he is now being blamed for favouring a colleague.

He could have acknowledged the gravity of the findings against Mrs Patel, while suggesting there were mitigating factors to explain, though not to justify, what was absolutely unacceptable behaviour. Instead of which, Mr Johnson breezily declared his full confidence in the Home Secretary – as though there were really no case to answer.

The jocular and affectionate nickname reference to the 'Prittster' is part Bullingdon Club member, part 'Boy's Own'. It's Boris and his gang* against the world.
Best not to mess with "The Prittser" - she wants Capital Punishment back as a "deterrent", maintaining that the British justice system would only hang "guilty people" .....
