Who remembers David Bellamy? Now there was a man who knew his onions. That big bearded rwound happy face of his would light up the grween house as he descrwibed the varweious plants “And here we have the habcious corribacus, a bweatful big member of the nossicical family, big rwed petals and sprwaling spacious leaves…” and his hands all over the place, what a wonderful man.

Roses

I like roses, there are so many kinds and colours.
Those big cabbage roses that don't smell like cabbage.
Dog roses with no dogs.
Beach roses, never seen any on my beach.
China roses are smashing.
Some climb, some bushy, some very thorny.

The fascination with roses is amazing.
The songs like - The Yellow Rose of Texas, Rose Garden and many more.
Then there was the War of the Roses.
Sayings like - She is an English rose, rosy cheeks, seeing the world through rose coloured glasses.
So many things from just one little bud.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

I’m not a flowery person but I think everyone loves roses Sweetie.
Then we had the old teddy boy haircuts and the bit of hair hanging down in the front, known as “The bunch of roses” Some lads had huge bunches and others were content with a little bunch. John Lennon had a small bunch before he and the other Beatles settled for “the Bowl” style.
I had a medium sized bunch of roses on me mallet.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

Yes you're correct, the DA was indeed at the back.
Tony Curtis was credited with introducing the DA, there was a song we used to sing to the tune of Davy Crockett
"Tony, Tony Curtis, King of the Teddy Boys..." can't remember it now.
