Selling Statue of liberty

My bet is that Donald Trump, if he can't get is own way, in congress he will put up for auction the Statue of Liberty.

Then he will have raised enough money to build his precious wall on the Mexican border

Not necessarily, Realspeed, who would want that great ugly thing and where would they put it?

He'll just get a loan from Russia to build it. Hardly make any difference to what he already owes them allegedly.

If he's that fond, why doesn't he fund the wall from his own massive personal fortune?

.. and thus snub the French who, if my memory is correct, gifted it to the US.

We've all, no doubt, had prezzies which we'd rather not have had and kept in the cupboard in case the giver turns up. The Statue of Liberty seems to be a somewhat hard one to hide and sell on ebay or gift to the PDSA
