Da Vinci was a clever man. French king Francis 1 invited him to the royal Chateaux d' Amboise and they were good friends. He lived about 500 metres from the chateaux at ‎Château du Clos Lucé ( not as luxuruios as it sounds ) and I visited the rooms he lived in and probably the one where he died.
There was an underground passage between the 2 Chateaux and it is believed that Leonardo spent a lot of time with the king.
The guide who showed us all these things made the experience quite moving.

I think he was brilliant in ‘titanic’ too
