Re: Gin

I don't drink it, but Marge seems to like it.

To me, it's like vodka: it doesn't actually taste of anything.

That's probably why there now seem to be so many varieties of gin, each mixed with something to make it taste of something!

The mixed ones AND the neat ones are horrible!

You can't beat a good single malt Scotch. Then there's Port, which we have just rediscovered.

Talking of which, we recently bought a bottle of 10 year old Taylors, which is OK but not as nice as the (cheaper) LBV by the same people.

Rhian darlin, using the same recipe for Sloe Gin, it is possible to make Blackberry or Damson Gin. Blackberry Gin thickens gravy beautifully!!!

I ve only ever drank gin once and never again. All I did was cry, for me it's a seriously depressing drink. They do call it mother's ruin

Re: Gin

Gordon's pink gin lots of ice and frozen sweet black cherries topped off with a small tin of slimline tonic....Gorgeous!

Only use the small tins of tonic ...they keep their fizz and gin needs fizz. The added bonus is once you have drunk the gin you are left with the gin soaked cherries...yummy
