Fish!

Morrison's supermarkets are currently selling a pack of gutted mixed fish for £5, which is very good value

Depending on availability they contain lemon sole, gurnard, sardines, mackerel, herring, and there could be others that I've forgotten

I have never tried red snapper, Bakerman, not even sure if I can buy it over here. Is it a bit like Tuna or Swordfish?

Red Snapper is a white, flaky fish; a bit like cod or pollock.

I don't know if it's widely available, but a fishmongers in your local West Indian community is your best bet.

Mrs d00d, in charge of all fish purchases, won't buy it because, for some reason, they are sold minus the head. She claims she can tell how fresh a fish is by looking it in the eye.

semi-close in taste to trout but red snapper is a salt water fish, and IMO better tasting. snapper is mild, lean, firm and ever so slightly sweet. Depending upon where it is caught and its diet, the flesh may be pinkish. Also it is a western Atlantic fish and also widely caught in the Gulf of Mexico.

Does She tell the Fishmonger to keep the eyes in to see You both through the week?
