But this isn't about a gravy train. We're in uncharted and very dangerous waters and on the very steeply rising point of a learning curve and so what matters most is to make best progress and worry about niceties last.

This obviously was not a talking shop. People have been bellyaching about not getting clear information and so getting the information into the public domain at this time of awful confusion and conflicting data is obviously a very vital subject.

I see, So you have details of the contract that nobody in the public domain does? Perhaps you could share what exactly they are doing because as far as I am concerned it's money down the drain at a time when we cannot afford knitting circle data groups swallowing up 840k funding. This is exactly the sort of fluffy initiatives that are NOT needed right now. Life imitating art as in "the thick of it"...

That's totally incorrect! More pulling wool over eyes is what it is.

This is precisely the new dawn of the gravy train resurrected because there is absolutely no financial control.

It's clear from this one news story that this sort of flippant procurement applies to all expenditure that people want to badge as covid because it suits their pet projects and can be slotted into a shady spot where nobody will look. Except in this case it's been found because of connections. But that should be a distraction rather than the main story which is - what exactly are we paying for and why are we paying for it? This is just adding to the national deficit without due diligence anywhere on the agenda.

Oh, come off it.

I don't notice anyone on these forums waiting for proof before they accuse people - especially politicians - of the worst.

Details? Obviously not but I can interpret what must be involved from what is taking place.

Due diligence on doing everything possible to counter the Whoo Hoo Flu must be number one not getting strung up by processes that never took account of the needs that have arisen in these extraordinary times when they were established.

well not really. Taking data, in this case about this horrid disease and what is taking place produces information that can be used with a high degree of certainty what needs to be concentrated on BUT the continued collection of data is vital as is the communication to people about what must be done.
