Actually an overnight bottle of bleach could work wonders. Just leave a wee clean up for the morning.. Worth a try anyway.

If there is limescale from being in a hard water area the bleach will only bleach that and it will soon become manky again .
So you have to get rid of the limescale first and then bleach .
Bleaching would probably kill all germs though.
