Speaking of weight, since obesity is a major cause of health problems, and obviously a greatly increased cost of health care, it stands to reason that obese people should be charged much, much more for high calorie foods: ice cream, cookies, sodas, butter, potato chips, in fact everything except fresh vegetables.

Why should the country, any country, bear the financial burden of people who can not, refuse to, lose weight and are morbidly obese?
This is way off-topic but the USA is the 12th most obese country in the world:

Much of the UK is heading that way:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obesit...cs_for_England

Data from the Health Survey for England (HSE) conducted in 2018 indicated that 31% of adults in the United Kingdom were recognised as clinically obese with a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 30. 63% of adults were classified as overweight or obese (a body mass index of 25 or above), compared to 53% in 1993. More than two-thirds of men and 6 in 10 women were overweight or obese. 15% of children aged between 2 and 15 years (inclusive) were obese and an additional 13% of children were overweight.

The most overweight region is the North East, where 68% of people are overweight, followed by the West Midlands at 65.7%

Doncaster is pretty high on the list Omah....
I can remember when to see a fat person was quite rare, we only ever had one in most of my classes as I went through school.

Food never seemed to be as addictive or plentiful back in the day, and food was probably the biggest outlay to the housekeeping bill. Now it's probably the smallest behind mobile phones, Internet and pay to view TV.

It’s a nice motor, highly recommended by the car reviewers, and hated by those who can’t afford a real car and of course the Wokes
