Use of Mobiles in Hospital.

Hi

Times have changed and so has the advice.

https://www.nhsx.nhs.uk/covid-19-res...such%20devices.

The NHS is supplying Free WiFi now and encouraging people to use it.

The only signs that I have seen are in the CT and MRI Rooms.

Everything else is fine.

The regional Coronary Unit in Stoke is like the bridge of the Star Trek Enterprise.

Everything is Bluetooth and WIFi and every patient details are on huge screens.

So very different from years ago.

They want you up and in your chair wearing a transmitter so they can remotely monitor you.

They are brilliant things.

You are as safe as houses and getting some movement.

Hi

Things have changed.

Not been in the Recovery Room, my condition is not operable.

Times change, technology moves on.

We where all monitored by WiFIi and Bluetooth.

No Angiogram this time,, that was 18 years ago.

CT with dye, much safer and quicker and they show you the results straight away.

Maybe the rules depend on where you are and what is being done.
I had some exploratory/diagnostic surgery done this morning at a Private Hospital but as an NHS patient - and my mobile - along with any jewellery - had to be left outside in the car with the friends who took/collected me.

Hi

Exactly right, it also depends on how advanced the equipment is.

As was referred to in my link, it is down to local risk Assessments.

Mobiles certainly did not interfere with remote monitoring of Heart etc, we all had them.

Can't speak for operating theatres, but not allowed for scans, everything else was fine.

If you are having an MRI, metal is not a good idea.

Hope it all went well for you.

I had loads of tests, No Covid, not Diabetic, Liver and kidneys fine.

heart is not, but there we go.

Re: Use of Mobiles in Hospital.

I could use my phone all day long when I was in (2004) and again in (2014)
I broke my arm in a motoring accident when I was 18 back in 1969 No phones then, but my cigarettes were on the bedside table and you could smoke all day long........Yes times have changed alright...
