Re: Corrie

Yes, just read it in my tv guide. Hoping to be out of hospital that day so can watch it at home, before I go away again.

I know I can catch up again with Sky for my soaps, though. Yeehah.

Hope I don't sit watching it in floods of tears. Probably won't stop.

Re: Corrie

Good that will stop her popping in again now if they could just take a few others with her I wouldn't complain. Liz, Sophie and Dev would do to start, I have a bigger list if they are interested

Re: Corrie

It broke my heart tonight to see Roy having to carry Hayley back to bed.

I say this with sadness, but we wouldn't allow a beloved pet to suffer so they are euthanised to put them out of their misery and yet, as humans, we allow our own kind to suffer excrutiating pain, knowing that they're dying in pain and nothing can be done for them except to keep them dosed up on morphine, until they die anyway. That's just not right on so many levels.

There's no right or wrong, but this very sad situation was shown in Holby City a few years ago, when a surgeon reluctantly took his wife to Switzerland because she wanted to end her own misery, legally. It was very traumatic to watch. Not for her, as it's what she wanted, but for him.

Julie Hesmondhalgh has purposely lost weight in order to give credence to her character and yes, I think the writers and producers are portraying this with dignity and sensitivity, as are the other characters involved.

Re: Corrie

Agree Julie, Sophie's a whiney, sanctimonious little thing isn't she? Maybe she and Tina could stand back to back so's not to waste two bullets.

Re: Corrie

In this mornings paper it says they are half expecting Hayley's demise to cause a "wave of copycat suicides".
Would gullible people really do that do you think?

Re: Corrie

If people panic enough after watching it Mups, some of them might. Given that manufacturers believe that people will buy after watching an advert, it may also be true that if someone thinks that Hayley is doing the right thing, they may copy if they are in a similar situation?

Re: Corrie

Gosh it took me 2 hours to watch last nights episodes today I had to keep stopping to recover from crying. My husband went to the shops earlier and returned with two boxes of tissues for Mondays and a grin on his face (grrr)
