Did any one see the first episode of Sugar-Free Farm yesterday.

I watched this last night Susie,I enjoyed it ...especially seeing Jennifer feeding the baby calf ..they look to be eating very well, the food looked very appetising I have to say.

Re: Sugar free Farm

I heard bits of the programme
I was surprised sugar withdrawal had such tangible effects comparable to some drugs

Re: Sugar free Farm

They were discussing this prog at the gym this morning. I didn't see it but can imagine the effects of giving up sugar, after all there's far too much of it around and it's in everything - not good.

Re: Sugar free Farm

There are so many cookery/diet/lifestyle programmes, but I thought this was quite good and well made; not as condescending as some of them.

I'll make an effort to watch the rest of the series

Re: Sugar free Farm

I didn't see the programme, however being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, 5 years ago, I have needed to considerably reduce my sugar intake.
I haven't had any side-effects from the sugar reduction, but maybe I would notice if I was to go ZERO sugar?

Re: Sugar free Farm

I suppose if you're a person who likes sweet things and do have sugary food and sweets, then you are going to get withdrawal symptons, but if you are like me and don't eat sugary things anyway, then I wouldn't miss it.

At the end of the programme Jennifer and Jane were not very well.

It really isn't surprising at all as from an industry perspective, Sugar displays all the key characteristic of a Class A drug. Addictive, Affects brain function, screws with your body systems etc etc.

One day people will realise that for years our rulers have allowed the equivalent of Heroine to be freely put into food products and sold raw on supermarket shelves. It's an utterly ridiculous situation imo.
