We all miss things at times.

However, if anyone else mentions anything with a religious connotation in it, there's no problem.

If I mention anything, then I get accused of ridiculing her beliefs and she wants to rake up a load of of dirt and she becomes argumentative and insulting.

I'm sick to death of having to pussy foot around and changing what I might want to post just to pander to her deluded opinions of me and my intentions.

Nah - she's ok. I rather like her - though in the early days we did clash on matters religious.

But then I'm rather difficult to insult (adequately?)

Then you must become better at it than she is.

That's true, Todger, but I just see that as a challenge.

LOL!

As I wrote it somehow I just knew someone would see it that way!

It wasn't intended to be though.

Re: A Smart Car Saga

Anyway Dianne, sorry about the minor deviation.

It's just that it happened again on here. From now on, I'll just do what I did this time and report it.

Back to topic.

better late than never Artangel..

I can remember tests and comparisons of the top of my head...OMG..not a lot in there lately..but they done tests and comparisons and they came out as winners back then...

The new model, no idea about any of them at all.
The car was so quirky though..Sometimes it would not start so you pull down the sun visor and hey presto you would see a note of actions to take,,obviously a common occurrence..yes it was and happened regularly...

the rest is just me chatting on in general about our Smart or not so Smart we called it sometimes...

Just General Problems you can have...

My daughter borrowed it a few times and the 1st time it happened to her she thought she had done something wrong to it..Days when you are pleased to have mobile contact...You could not change the oil unless you purchased a pump to get the stuff out. No big deal once you know...

There was a web site that was Excellent for Smart Car owners tips and much more...warnings, some very essential information that the company had failed to inform you of.

It was our first experience of knowing the Smart Car could only go to a garage repair place that had the computer software....we took it in for issues that were intermittent and they changed the clutch about £500 at that time and it went wrong with hours so once we got it going again back it went..

They checked it over and it was infact the gear engager that was needed to be replaced not the clutch at all.. about another £400... It was the final straw so I stated my case against them firmly, very firmly and they said ok wavier the last one..

There is little leeway even when garages go wrong..sure is good when you hear some good Garage reports from people though.

That is not what we have found out along the way..except when we had a local mobile mechanic...
That was the beginning of our car history and used him until we moved areas in 2000.

Believe it or not, your resistance to being insulted is one of the things I like about you, Todger.

Re: A Smart Car Saga

Indeed. Some car companies will have specialised bits of equipment which only their authorised dealerships/garages will have access to.

One sufficient cars are made and there's a market for it, third parties will get involved and develop hybrid bits of kit and replacement parts which do the job, and which they can sell to other garages.
