CP not quick at all in America .
Probably just as well because the American police are often racist and prejudiced against black people who seem to be the ones accused and convicted for crimes they didn’t commit,
Prisoners are kept for decades on death row.
If life imprisonment were life it would be the same .
If there was no possibility of release ever they have nothing to lose by murdering prison guards and other prisoners .

If you beat up little kids they will beat up smaller ones.
Many violent criminals have had violent childhoods.

OK. A special punishment alternative for mohammedans then.

Hang them in chains in a dungeon (Monty Python-esque) and don't feed them. They can be allowed to die in their own time and, because they haven't been killed directly, allah won't let them into paradise!

Not beat up, but cane and not for trivial things but in response to serious misdemeanors such as fighting, bullying, repeated discipline offences etc.

There are some people who only understand being physically hurt. Talk is meaningless as are periods in jail. For such people physical pain and physical discomfort are the only thing that gets through.

Wouldn't work. They would gain kudos by having died for allah. HOW they died is immaterial. Even being force fed pork dripping on toast wouldn't work despite what many people think.

Mind you the thought of the sods being given pork dripping, especially the brown bit on the bottom, on toast would p*** me off. I love it with a pinch of salt! It transmogrifies into beef dripping as it passed our lips - so that's OK then!

The 'Punishment does not fit the Crime'

They have a cushy life in Jail and with all Mod Cons and acsess to TV, Computer Education, Music, often drugs are brought in as well.
They are there, gloating about their crimes without any contrition

Why can't they be whipped, every day for at least one year to remind them of what they have done?

That is very true, but primarily because prisons are such nice, easy places in which to live these days. The only 'punishment' involved is the fact that they are not allowed to leave the premises.

Of course, if they've been good little boys and girls, they are often allowed out in order to acclimatise themselves to normal outside life in preparation for when they finish their sentences early.

That is also a means for them to re-acquaint themselves with their compatriots and plan their next robbery, etc.

That's perfectly OK. If it is their ideal way to die (and go to their pretend paradise), perhaps they'll queue up to be arrested and hung in chains.

Nice, easy, cheap. No need for any attention from guards, prison visitors and medics. Just a small job of sweeping up the bones and left-overs after they've turned their toes up. Actually, though, the rats could do most of that for us.
