Starting A Forum

I guess this is a pretty limited question, more for Azz.

Is there a lot of money involved? How many hours do you have to devote? Is there a basic format to follow?

Thanks, there's no Over 50's forums in my country, unbelievable!!

Re: Starting A Forum

You can do it free and it takes as much time as you want to devote to it AC. I have been involved in a few and it's best I think to start with a few friends who can take over if you go on holiday or just lose your internet for a while.

You can pay of course but most forums don't need all the bells and whistles just a basic design and lots of chatty people is enough.

Thanks Julie, its something I was just curious about. Unfortunately right now my time just wouldn't really allow it.

Re: Starting A Forum

then I don't understand you asking the questions if you knew you didn't have the time to run a forum

If we all only asked about things we wanted to do instantly we would not learn much over a lifetime.

That's right, thanks Julie. I ask questions to a friend about Brazil too, doesn't mean I want to go live there

Re: Starting A Forum

it begs the question why you would ask on an open forum for details of money needed, if it was about the time it involves then that's fine especially when that seems to be a major concern as AC doesn't have the time
