Re: Elsie

That is good Julie.
I know it is extremely hard, but try to keep your level head on as well. It is so easy to let the emotional one take control. Good luck for tomorrow.

Re: Elsie

Cautious optimism !!!

Right firstly what fantastic people at fitzpatricks really really special people.

They took her in did various tests and a scan and such a good girl she sat still for them and just licked the radiographers glasses, not sure how helpful that was but the lady laughed so no harm done.

They can see the tumour in all its horror and are fairly sure they can at least help her by taking a portion of it away, they want to operate on Friday, when they will attempt to remove the entire tumour but if that is not possible they will take off the bit causing the fits. Down side is she may lose an eye but as she is losing her sight that to us seems cosmetic and we will love her one eyed or two.

We have agreed that if it's impossible once they get her on the table they won't bring her round, it seems fairer both in our opinions and theirs, I felt better saying it knowing they agreed with me as I am sure from what they were saying they don't want to cause her more harm.

So not out of the woods but it's slightly more hope than we had when we went off in the car this morning.

We have to drop her off Friday morning and they will do pre op tests etc with the plan to operate early afternoon.

They all made a huge fuss of her and she loved every minute so I am sure she will be happy to stay with them which makes this all easier, it's horrible when they don't want to be left or are scared and she is neither.

They are unsure if her odd behaviours will spontaneously go away because she developed her problems so early they think it may be a big ask for her to suddenly be normal but who wants a normal dog anyway I say

I will be thinking of both you and Elsie on Friday and hoping all goes well. I don't think Elsie could have had a more caring and considerate owner. Good luck!

Re: Elsie

Will be thinking of you all on Friday and positive vibes heading your way.

(I'm very envious of you going to Fitzpatricks, though I don't envy the reason )
