Re: Handstands

As a child and into my teens, yes.
Now, no.
I thought there was some sort of law about gravity and age inspired by some bloke with an apple?

Re: Handstands

Yes when I was primary school the girls often played handstands. It wasn't unusual to see a row of upside down girls against one of the walls.

That is just beyond outrageous!

It's all I can do to stay upright after dropping in and making a few slow cutbacks.

Just kidding . That's amazing! Your balance must be off the charts!

Haha, that is how we learned them too. It was also the reason we wore shorts under the required dresses and skirts to school .

Same here but I needed a wall or another person to catch my legs to stop me from going "base over apex".

Re: Handstands

I was good at handstands, even tho' I say it myself. Not sure I could now though.

I used to have this thing - every time I moved to another house I had to do handstands up one of the walls to christen it.
It had to be up a wall in the latter years
I decided two houses ago, I wouldn't try it any more - just in case

Cartwheels... erm, I could do one of sorts when a kid, but not as an adult.

Re: Handstands

I remember when the girls at primary school did handstands, all the boys would look at their knickers

Re: Handstands

My balance used to be very good Surfmom. MOst of the kids in the surf club could do that. I was nothing special. Now my balence is not off the charts. It's just off. I use a kneeboard now. Lost my confidence on a surfboard.

Re: Handstands

I was a good gymnast at school, I could do a bridge. I used to do handspring and cartwheels but I could never do the splits much to my annoyance.

Re: Handstands

As a teenager, I was a cheerleader in high school. We had to do handstands, cartwheels, high jumps, and build human pyramids. It was challenging and fun to participate, but now... need I say my skills wandered away and I don't think I will ever find them again?
