Not got round to getting one yet Apricot, now I'm retired I've plenty of time to stir stuff in a pan on the hob.
Didn't fancy my food being 'Nuked' either.....

Re: Microwave

I have one and find it useful for cooking the cat's fish & heating things up.... but I couldn't do without it because I always forget to get things out of the freezer, when I need them to make dinner the following day, so need the defrost feature!

Re: Microwave

Not in my place, no and won't have one. I will not nuke my food, I prefer to cook it in the traditional way!!!

Re: Microwave

Not had one now for about ten years and tbh I haven't really missed it. As OGF says, I have the time to cook on the hob and the oven. I used to cook jacket potatoes mainly using the microwave but they are so much better in the oven.

The only thing is sometimes IMO be more fuel efficient, if you just want to heat a small portion quickly.
As for "Nuking" , never thought about it.

I find mine useful for making my morning porridge and quickly heating home made bread/scones/soup and

They make the most wonderful salt and fat free potato crisps too
