Ahhh but ............

Do we know for sure whether 'suede' actually meant 'swede' or .............

suet
noun
"the hard white fat on the kidneys and loins of cattle, sheep, and other animals, used to make foods such as puddings, pastry, and mincemeat."
Sounds revolting.

Re: Microwave

I do have one, but only use it to heat something up, or partly cook a potato, or makes great stewed apples.

Re: Microwave

Generally speaking, it is best to avoid nuking meat - it does toughen it up.

Cat-burgers seem OK though.

Thanks for that Pummie, I've never liked anything made with 'suet' - Fray Bentos Pies and Dumplings to mention two, but didn't know why. I just put it down to the slimy appearance. Sub consciously I think my body was telling me it was bad for me....

Re: Microwave

Yes, I wouldn't be without mine, either. Baked beans, soups, custards.

But you shouldn't use one for heating plates as it needs food in it to operate safely! Tut tut. I leave my dinner plate on top of my mini oven to warm up.
