Its coming on winter so don't forget to feed the birds, a fat rich diet will help to see them through the worst of the weather.

A timely reminder Bill I won't forget though I no longer feed birds in the garden because it attracts rats (I have seen them going to next doors intricate bird feeder) .

Instead when I go down the field with my dog each day I take lots of food and spread it on a tree trunk and the fence

My partner usually ties a half coconut to the washing ropes, the birds have a great time with it. If it's a hard winter I put the fat balls up on the ropes too.
