Face Masks/Shops

Is the compulsory wearing of Face Masks in shops more to do with Footfall than Safety?

IE when the mask are worn will people drop the two metre buffer zone and pack the shops out again?

Yes they have realised that lots of people are not going to shops because they are worried about covidiots. If two people have their face covered then being closer than 2m is far less risky. The risk has been described as 90% reduced. It stops the infected touching their face and passing it on that way too.

If people are sensible they should realise that everyone wearing a mask and adhering to the distance rules in a shop/store should ensure their safety.

You’re thinking with your level of intelligence Mags ,it isn’t a given that everyone has it .
No social distancing evident in the Supermarkets I’m visiting and only the older generation in the main wearing masks .

At risk of stating the obvious, there's going to be a sudden interest in purchasing face masks/coverings during the next few days.
A bit like the run on toilet paper quite recently, no pun intended.

Yet, you don’t have to wear one on your visit to the pub! That seems strange as people have been packed like sardines in some pubs!

The pubs in our village are not allowing people inside only in the garden or for the eating part .

A pint and chat by the bar is no more .

With a predicted UK fatality in excess of 100,000 this winter as the Chinese Plague bites again anyone who has not started to stock up with essentials would be well advised to start now. We already have.

I have a stock of 70 masks, mainly for emergency in case there is a valid reason I have to go out.

Thinking of purchasing more as I have visions of it being a long, long winter ahead.
