What a very nice attribution! Nothing like the good fortune of parents who, more than passing on good genes, provide a rich and secure childhood full of opportunities. Like you, I thank my lucky stars for my parents.

By any measure, your achievements are grand ones! Once you are toilet trained and have a modicum of literacy, the world is your oyster .
That’s why I achieved nothing....I only have one of those...

Re: Achievements

Academically I achieved 8 O-Levels and 2 A-Levels, a HND in Mechanical Engineering, and completed a five year Engineering Apprenticeship.

Since then I have achieved wisdom, enlightenment, tranquillity, and eternal patience.

These all pale into insignificance when compared to the happiness I have achieved due to a certain Lovely Cousin of my acquaintance.

Re: Achievements

Hi

Achievements are often superceded by others.

That is the nature of life, that is progress.

There is always someine better tan you.

I rank my achievements in a very different way.

I try to do a kindness to one person every day to make their life better.

A small thing, but keeps me happy.

Re: Achievements

OGF, that is an astounding number of endeavors!

There is one statistic that I wonder whether or not you have considered.

You are at 99 full and half marathons. What would you think about doing one more, even if it mean walking a portion of the route?

Hi

That is brilliant OGF, something to be very proud of.

I have not been able to run since 1989 when I was injured.

I have however beat the system as I returned to work again and can walk again.

It was life changing, but also very positive.

A brilliant mentor, forget running.

If you run you just die tired.

Believe in yourself and never, ever, be the victim.

Thanks Surfermom, but I'm afraid that would be out of the question.
After my first heart attack in 2004 I was banned from ultra long distance running by my family. I did however negotiate a deal with them that allowed me to continue running half marathons. That soon came to an end after my second heart attack in 2014. I am now not allowed to run in competition, and there's no way I would finish last if I ever lined up on a start line in the future....
