I absolutely agree with that, but in the way darwin has described it. Not those who are the strongest (defeated those weaker) will survive. Those best to fit (fittest) changing situations will survive.
As we all agree, times are changing whether we like it or not. As a people we have to adopt, not try to resist the change by turning away from those we need. Europe has recognized there are massive changes already, and many more to come. We have to face them en bloc. Those too smal will be swept away in the tide.

For heavens sake Solasch, when will you realize that we are leaving the EU and are not afraid of your scare tactics.
Is nobody else bored with all this talk about Brexit, or do some of you still think that a European fairy will wave her magic wand & make us remain?
What worries me is that a none European immigrant who is currently living in the EU is so desperate to keep Britain in the EU. Can't the EU manage without us Solasch, & if they can why waste all your time on here telling us what a mistake we are making? It is our decision for our country & therefore the other members opinions on whether we leave is irrelevant!

Re: Dig Down into Immigrants and our/their Luck!

Do Trade Agreements cause many of the problems, over there in the Countries from which the people migrate?

Trade Agreements signed by the EU, the UK, and all the others, might be seen in a very negative light if you think about those remaining outside such agreements and who have to grow and market their produce without access to the deals and terms of such an agreement.

I recall the banana situation, many years ago, whereby a country dependent on growing bananas was bypassed in favour of another Country (which produced a lot of less enjoyable bananas)!

Please don't reply that the UK will soon find out!(Brexit) I don't think we grow bananas!

Your response item could have been written in 1939!

Same thinking, same need to grasp control.

Just overrun other countries, take what they have, and then look around for more.

Perhaps some sensible negotiating would be better.

That's an excellent explanation of how the EU appears to operate.

I think the only difference is that, this time, France has allied itself to Germany (although once conquered, the Vichy French gave up and joined the Nazis).

Overrunning other countries is remarkably similar. Italy, of course, was already happily under the German thumb, but then we have Poland, Czechoslovakia and other east European countries falling to the conqueror and, of course, Greece.

On the other hand, whereas in those days all of the conquered countries hated being subjected to rule by a foreign power, today it seems that most of them feel quite happy about it. Or is it really only their politicians?

Still, the Third Reich eventually collapsed (after having caused untold damage and ruination) and, I'm sure, the same conclusion awaits the EU.

Seems the EU have beaten you to it. They have just completed a trade deal with south american countries (mercosur) after 20 years of negotiation.
Same as a deal with japan, new zealand and australia. Negotiations with african countries have started.

Those negotiations with africa started as a response, c.q. a way to tackle the immigration problem. Trade is the best way to share the properity of western countries with those where people are fleeing abominable conditions. In the end it costs less than building walls between greece and hungary.

The reality is that the EU has become the German Fourth Reich.

One very willing collaborator to help the Third Reich was one Andries Riphagen, a real mumzer if ever one drew breath.

He was Dutch.

He'd have been bloody orgasmic over the EU.
