Windows 10 - Opening Photos

AFAIK, the default Windows 10 photo viewing software is Windows Photo Viewer - IMO, it's very basic and can readily be replaced by other products.

Lots of Windows 10 users swear by Google Photos and, if you have a large collection of images, it's the one to use.

For may years I have used XnView, a combined viewer/editor:

I use the "Classic" version.

Either of these is much better than Windows Photo Viewer.

OK - You should have selected the Minimal version, but the others just contain extras which you probably won't need .....

Omar, do you mean Google Photos cloud storage? for sharing & linking? https://photos.google.com/

I use that but I'm currently having a few problems.

I'll get back to you, hopefully you can help.

Yes, I see that now. I suppose I can use some of the adjustments such as brightness/contrast rather than having to open Gimp each time.

Plus it lists all the files on the left which is handy too.

Apparently, Imgur is an American online image sharing community and image host. The description alone puts me off .....

I just want a photo viewer and editor .....

If that is all you want them Picasa 3 is still available and because Google have abandoned it they (probably) don't spy on you with it any more.

Much easier to use than Gimp and for the basic stuff such as cropping or resizing even simple adjustments of contrast and brightness it is pretty good.

Google don't offer it any more but plenty of places do, this one was first on a quick Google search but it might be worth looking for a more well known site.
