Pick me up/ Tonic

Does anybody use a tonic/pick me up when they're feeling a bit under the weather and does it work?

No and no

I don't believe in 'tonics' or quick fixes but I do think eating lots of fruit and vegetables helps to repair damage to the body when a person has been ill.

For some odd reason when I have been ill I long for porridge

Re: Pick me up/ Tonic

When i worked in a Hair Salon the subject of a pick me up was talked about and what was recommended by clients was
Metatone Tonic from Boots.
Ive just had a look and it says for use after Flus and Colds and when you feel tired and run down.

Do you know what is in Metatone Eliza , it is basically sugar/ alcohol/colouring and salt .

sucrose, glucose syrup, ethanol, E123, caramel. Sodium content: 16.4mg/5ml. Carbohydrate content 1.75g/5ml.

This product contains approximately 10% ethanol (alcohol). Each 5ml spoonful contains 420mg ethanol,
equivalent to 10ml beer or 4ml wine per dose. This may be harmful to those suffering from alcoholism. This
should also be taken into account in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and high risk groups such as
patients with liver disease or epilepsy.
This product contains 16.4 mg sodium per 5 ml dose. This should be taken into consideration by patients on
a controlled sodium

I think a Gin and tonic would taste better
