Re: Call the midwives

Tonight's episode was excellent. A thalidomide baby was delivered. So sad to see that little baby with short arms & legs.
How did they make a baby look like that I wonder - the little limbs looked so real - and where were her real arms & legs hiding?

Tony thought the babies deformity was real but I said it couldn't be.

Any thoughts?

Excellent episode last night. My Mother was a midwife and I can remember her heartache when she delivered Thalidomide babies.Don't know if the baby last night was "real",it's amazing what the tv people can do to make things look authentic.

I was so happy to see the father except his lovely daughter..was very sad though to see the baby,I read somewhere it was the morning sickness pill given out in the sixties that may have caused this, anyone know ?

Re: Call the midwives

We had a neighbour at home who took thalidomide and had a little girl with no arms just hands. Her legs were ok though. Very sad and terrible thing to happen .

Another excellent episode tonight - now that's it until the Christmas special!

Feeling sad that it's ended!
