What is eating my daffodils??

Planted loads of daffs I was given last year, all doing very well coming up and in bud, but now I find that the buds have almost all been eaten by something. I thoughts daffs were indestructible as poisonous, but obviously I'm wrong! What's the culprit?

Possibly Slugs, they seem to destroy a lot of my plants. I know it's them as the silver trails are always there.

I too would blame the slugs and snails

..I understand mice and voles eat some bulbs including daffodils although they are bitter , squirrels too

I lost a lot of bulbs one year..

I dont plant bulbs with yellow flowers as the birds eat the yellow flowers, I only discovered it last Spring when all my yellow pansies were eaten.

May be rather cold for slugs and snails just yet (it is here anyway), so I think I would go for squirrels or mice.....

I once knew a guy who ate the flowers so def not poisonous. Good luck in finding the culprit

Having spotted Grey Squirrels munching Daffs in my work gardens I'd say them or maybe woodmice - had them in my shed and they ate all sorts!! stevmk2

Squirrels go for the tulips here but never the daffodils. I'd guess slugs as well.
