I love fruit with meat, grilled pork chop or gammon with a watercress and orange salad and a mustard dressing ..yumThere are hundreds of things I wouldn't put together, carrots or cabbage with fish, mint sauce with beef (something my sister does),jam with stew (something they do in Gloucestershire ) ..the list is endless.

When I first moved up North from London I was surprised to be offered Yorkshire pudding as a starter with jam (and sweet gravy/sauce
). If it had been served as a pudding it would it have been similar to a crepe or a pancake? I could have accepted that - but a starter - how strange, I thought.
