Re: Tall or Short

I’m 5’7”. I’m shrinking with age. I’ve liked my height . When I was in grade 7, I was really tall and I’d wear high heels and was taller than most of the guys. They hated it. Didn’t bother me any.

Re: Tall or Short

I used to be 6' 4" but after a broken back, I'm now only 6' 2"

Major advantage ? Being able to see over the crowd.

Disadvantage ? My Ex was only 5', and 101 lbs. Hard to slow dance with her.

Re: Tall or Short

I'm 5'2" . Oh I so wish I was taller because I'd look slimmer. .

I noticed when I was young my mum and dad were taller than me even when I grew up , then I noticed as mum and dad got older they became shorter than me .

I've come to the conclusion they shrunk to fit in their coffins !

My beautiful first granddaughter aged 15 is now taller than me and maybe I'll start shrinking to fit into my coffin soon

I'm sure I am right when I say 80% of male offspring will grow taller than their mothers

And the Dutch are the tallest race.

And Foot soldiers aint.

When the little kid fell and cried, everyone felt sorry… me.. I was a big sissy if I cried. The boys two years above me school always wanted to fight me, because I was the same size as them, but not as tough… so I made them look good.

How I wished I was smaller like my class mates…. Yes they got away murder, when they were naughty, cheeky monkeys they were… and all the girls liked the smaller boys as they were funny…. And the older boys didn’t fight or pick on them.

But things did change, I carried on growing, and used my size as an advantage, well I also learnt a few skills too. So yes, being tall from my teens to now I think is better than being smaller.

Did you wish you were taller… or shorter…. Are there more advantages being tall/small ?
I was not only the tallest in my class from an early age, I was also the one to be seen first by all the teaching staff and therefore was the first to be nominated for everything.
By the time I was 11 going on 12, I was rapidly approaching 6' and by 16 and thinking about leaving school I was a gnats under 6'6".
Contrary to your experience, I found nearly all the girls preferred a tall chap to a shorter one. Although in the end and after extensively playing the field, I was smitten by my wife who at her tallest was only 4'11"

Re: Tall or Short

As for myself, I'm 5'4", probably lost a half inch or so due to age.
I always liked my height, didn't want to be shorter or taller that I recall.

My daughter is 5'7", my son is 6'1", grandson is 6', granddaughter is 5'7", and youngest grandson is only 5'9".

So, I'm surrounded by height, yet they still know who's the boss.
