The accusation was so obviously flawed that I asked for a vote immediately. Eleven hands went up. The one dissenter:
"I'm just not sure"
That should have been enough for the if in doubt to kick in but it descended into a debacle much like you get on internet forums.
After an hour of silly discussion juror number twelve was convinced to see what was glaringly obvious to the other eleven of us. A conclusion we could have come to within one minute.

SIX TIMES,I've done jury service.The most interesting one [jury-room wise] was a 'pikey' family's daughter was accused of stabbing a bloke who started a fight with the pikeys at a garage one night. There was a right old ding-dong,as the bloke had his mates with him,the other pikeys joined in,the staff came running to get involved...and during the chaos,one of the blokes who'd got out of the car to have a go at the pikeys was stabbed. NOT fatally-but in the stomach. The female pikey was the accused-and to be fair,although the cctv footage wasn't brilliant quality,we COULD see her getting involved in the punch-up.
NINE of the jury,rather as Bes said,decided within MINUTES of us entering the room,she was guilty. I wasn't having that-and SOD the 'show of hands'.
We argued that case for THREE DAYS[honestly,THREE days] before the other jurors actually admitted/confessed their dislike for pikeys,plus a certain amount of 'She's a pikey,it MUST have been her''. Cutting this short [sorry] she was aquitted. The footage showed her punching her weight,but NOT holding a knife,not at ANY time. Meh...woddya know-Puggy's unpopular AGAIN!
