Re: Things that annoy you!

I used to read the Gazette, now it is only read by the folks on Coronation Street.

Ah, the Weatherfield Gazette. A very under-rated local newspaper! It's reports, surprisingly, mirror very precisely events in Coronation Street.

But, what supports it financially?

Re: Things that annoy you!

One of the few things that really annoy me, is when half a dozen bill are at a checkout but only one of them is buying anything.

It happened again today at a garden centre.
There was a woman, plus presumably her husband, plus mother in law, grandaughter, and another bloke as well.
All clogging up the till space, so the next person could not even begin to unpack their trolley, because this lot were all lining up in the queue.

I know families like to go out together, but when it gets to paying, why can't they use the brain and only the person buying/paying go to the checkout? Surely all the other relatives don't have to queue the tills too?

A related problem:

You find yourself in a supermarket checkout queue. Very few items on the belt, so it can't be long to wait can it?

Then the customer in front comes to paying and produces an enormous wad of coupons, which the checkout operative has to count through, taking ages.

Instead of issuing these bits of paper, why not just knock off a couple of pence on their prices?

A more annoying thing about the DM, though, is that the paper is heavily biased in favour of Treason May.

On the other hand, I usually pay far more attention to the readers' comments, which is almost always in opposition to the paper's bias!

One of the attractions of the DM to me, apart from the fact that I can read it every day for free! (online), is that it is the only online newspaper I am aware of that publishes readers' comments.
Totally agree with that JBR. I would go as far to say that the paper purposely makes controversial comments to encourage more replies; comments such as 'The stunning Helen Mirren' ... that sort of thing.

Tbh, I rarely click on the Mail these days if I can help it.
