Tips.

On how not to throw food away...

What do you do with yours?

Today I have a few slices of bread left over.their freshness date is nearly up.

So I will cut the slices into tiny squares, pop them in a preheated oven...put them in for a good half an hour.

Then put them in the food processor..

There you have it,dried breadcrumbs, they also freeze well.

I have some carrots left over.what can I do with those?...no soup please as I'm fed up with making it..

Are they cooked or raw?

Cooked -they could be frozen to use in stew/soup later on, or sauted in butter as veg with today's lunch.

Raw - they could be shredded into a salad, made into coleslaw or sliced and frozen.

I also hate to waste food and can become quite inventive with left overs.

Re: Tips.

I would grate them to either use in the sauce for a lasagne, or freeze them for when you require them.

Re: Tips.

You have to blanch veg and cool quickly in iced water if you want to freeze..
