Ballroom dancing.

We took up ballroom dancing about 13 years ago, in our mid-50s and it changed our life. We have made great friends and expanded our social life enormously. We never wanted to compete and have resisted all urging to do so. Although we live in Dublin we have danced socially in England quite a bit, including the wonderful Tower Ballroom in Blackpool. Any other dancers here?

Hello Socialdancer and welcome to the forum

As Tess says I love dancing and do Modern Sequence ... it's a wonderful pastime and has been proven to be one of the best exercises for both body and mind ... although it is hard work learning over 40 new dances a year and remembering them is even harder

Hello Myrtle! We also do sequence dancing and enjoy it very much, although we certainly don't learn 40 each year!

How I wish we didn't have to learn so many but if you do Modern Sequence that's the way it is

Of course social sequence at 50/50 dances are the Golden Oldies

Very true, so I suppose we mainly know them Next month we will be at a Phil Hurst dance in Blackpool where he does 50/50. We don't get 50/50 dances over here though.

Re: Ballroom dancing.

We've had lessons in ballroom, latin and sequence on and off for about ten years now. Like you, we love it, it's changed our lives!
