Princess Diana Statue

Her two sons commission one ,"As adults, they're using their wealth - and that of others - to erect a statue of their mother."
There should be no comments about the Tax paying for it then

I think its well over due , just hope they can get a good likeness .

Good grief Welshie. I hadn't realised it was that long either.

Where will this statue be I wonder?
Whoops! Sorry, just seen it will be at Kensington Palace.
Nice idea from the boys.

I'd always hoped they would stand up for their Mother when they grew up.

Here they are delivering on that hope ...

Good men, both.

Re: Princess Diana Statue

The article says it'll be the fourth London-based monument dedicated to her.

I could be wrong but I think the Queen Mother only has one.

As long as the two lads are paying for it themselves it's a lovely idea... one more personal, from them to her, as it were.

Edited for correction: A six strong committee, including Di's sister, has been formed to raise funds.

Re: Princess Diana Statue

I remember the night she died. I had some friends over for dinner and drinks and basic 'partying' in general. Some of us were sitting in the living room watching TV and "breaking news" came over the television announcing that Princess Diana was dead. We were speechless.

She was so beautiful. Not just on the outside, but inside as well.

A terrible waste of money. I think Diana was an attention seeking woman; Charles was an idiot to marry her. Camilla is a million times better than Diana.

Re: Princess Diana Statue

Diana was the mother of the future King if England. She was very popular with the public, and her sons are trying to continue much of her good work, especially Harry.
She was a big part of British history, so whether you like her or not, she should be remembered and this statue is a good way to do it..... especially as it has been commissioned by her sons.
