Re: Capsule wardrobe

Oh I always pack far too many clothes, but then perhaps not because i always end up wearing everything I packed. Rather too many clothes than not enough.

Re: Capsule wardrobe

Hi

I gave up with ladies packing long ago.

My holidays are in SE Asia, you can get anything at a mere fraction of the price here.

My Ex packed 34 kilos for our trip, excess baggage charge.

I took it all out, saved a mint, she arrived with a T Shirt, lightweight Trousers and a change of knickers and bra.

We had a fantastic few days shopping, once she calmed down.

Made to measure, gorgeous fabrics and cheaper than the baggage charge.

The sex was not good for the first two days, until she cottoned on, but heyho, she was happy thereafter.

You wouldn't have survived the first 2 days if that had been me! I hate shopping for clothes, so I have no intention of spending my holiday doing so.

I wouldn't dare display my smalls, Longdogs but they dry just fine in the bathroom.

Well your luggage can't be lost if you have it with you, and yes, I always travel independently so don't have to wait for others. So it's straight off the plane to my holiday!

Re: Capsule wardrobe

I found a really good cabin sized bag by Jeep. Since then I've found it easier to go hold only. I refuse to fly ryan air since they started to charge for anything over 10kg. That's just ridiculous. While you can squeeze it all in, getting down to such a pathetic weight is nigh on impossible. Then the main thing is to wear as much of the heavy stuff as possible on the flight. On Easyjet (who insist on making you put your hand bag in the cabin bag) I just put everything in the pockets of a jacket and take one of those little shopping bags to put it all in on the plane.

That's exactly why I like it. I always feel anxious that I will end up at the other end with no case on the turnstile and end up wearing the same knickers all week (eek!)....

I've never found keeping it to 10kg an issue, but maybe I'm just a slob...

Aw, thank you, SF, but the reality may be a little different...
