Keep Googling - at least it keeps you off the streets.

Annie,I can assure you,IMO,it is one of the nicest pastries you are likely to taste, especially for pies,..when I melt the lard instead of adding boiling water,..I make it with homemade chicken stock.

So easy to make.

Have you already posted the recipe here Pauline? I'd love to try it as it looks and sounds absolutely delish.

Just for the pastry Annie?

Or for the whole pie?

Where do I post the recipe?

I got the chicken filling recipe on YouTube,Tesco real food, chicken and mushroom pie,..I added my own ingredients and simmered the whole chicken in a pan of water, with stock cubes added,....when I came to make the party,I used the chicken stock water, much tastier.

The pastry,I got from Keefs Australian mince and cheese pie,..YouTube .i use beef stock or chicken stock, instead of water.

The whole pie recipe would be really appreciated Pauline. There's a recipe section in the main Food and drinks menu.

Re: Cookery Books.

I once had so many cookery books that I gave away to Charity, I have kept a few, but I read through them but don't use their recipes, I end up looking on the internet or just trial and error.

Re: Cookery Books.

I was a bit peckish at lunch time today so decided on a another variety of delightful pie.

Doubtless chocked full of all the flavoursome ingredients that Realist so thoughtfully listed for us.

I put the other three back in the freezer to savour another day.

Three minutes in the microwave and a perfect snack is ready and no washing up either (don't usually bother with the plate).

Full of spicy, cheesy, meaty goodness all for a mere $1.25 (75p), no wonder Australia's life expectancy is years longer than you poor bastards.

I do usually splash on a bit of tomato sauce but by then I was too hungry to be buggering about with photos.
