Express Medical Service Underway For No Deal BrExit

UK government prepares no-deal Brexit express medicines service

https://pharmaphorum.com/news/uk-gov...cines-service/

Another Project Fear myth busted !

"The UK’s Department of Health and Social Care is setting up a service to deliver emergency medicines into the UK within one to four days as the country prepares for the possibility of a no-deal Brexit.

The department is offering a £25 million contract to set up an express freight service to deliver drugs and drug products into the country, in the event of a no-deal Brexit on 31st October."

"According to the DH the contract is likely to only cost the taxpayer up to £4 million, and is supported by the £2 billion Brexit fund already announced by the government."

Re: Express Medical Service Underway For No Deal BrExit

So explain how "a myth is busted" when the government is having to invest in a work around to address the problem. What you meant to say was:
The problem with accessing medicines that will be faced from a no deal Brexit has been confirmed by the government. In order to address this the UK is having to pay extra for a work-around system.
Thanks for confirming that a no deal Brexit is definitely going to cause problems and definitely going to cost us money. You are, Realist, being realistic for once.

Oh goodie, the patients who need medicine need collectively only to pay 4 milion. Or is everybody in the UK going to bleed for this service?
The rest of the costs, 21 milion come from a fund that is set up by? Tax payers money, or are you suggesting boris will fund it from his private capital?

Pharmaceuticals and medical devices arent subject to tarrifs under the WTO exemption rules.

We cater for increased warehousing all the time. We did a shed load if it during the bird flu epidemic.

It's normal...

Where did the article mention tariffs?

It talks about a need for emergency deliveries with Brexit cited as the cause

Brexiteers keep stating that there will be no disruption of goods so why are they lauding spending £25 million when they say it’s not necessary?

Unless of course delays are are more reality than myth and Boris and hi band of fools need to spend their way out of a hole

It looks like uk the only thing busted is Realist

Re: Express Medical Service Underway For No Deal BrExit

They have now had a fair bit of time to plan so all should be thought through and planned for every contingency. But the logistics issues were down to potential problems with transportation and will probably not transpire given it's not a sudden no deal. So they have possibly paid for something that won't be needed. Had it happened in March we would have seen a different story.

My GP mentioned that there are shortages of certain medications because pharma companies are stockpiling ingredients in case of a no deal. There are other supply and manufacturing issues due to non EU trade issues.

This is one of the good things about having over three years to think of all the issues. It's given us more time to work around.

Your anti BrExit rhetoric is as sad as it is farcical.

Project Fear and Project Hysteria had people believe that with No Deal there would be no medicines and people would be dying in their droves for want of medicines.

What the article demonstrates is that when motivated, people get off their arses and put in place the agreements that will be needed post BrExit. Which we knew would always be the case. The fact that this and other required moves have been lacking is the result of EU stooges like yourself actively trying to obstruct BrExit, constantly sowing the seeds of doubt into the public and businesses minds alike so that they sit by idly waiting to see if BrExit will actually happen. What they needed to be doing was getting off their arses and preparing properly for BrExit.

If there are problems after we leave, if there is chaos of any kind, it will NOT be the fault of BrExit, it will be the fault of idiots trying to scupper BrExit, devoting their energies to preventing the will of the UK people expressed through a democratic referendum, which spawned inactivity and complacency in the people that needed to get busy with post BrExit preparations.

Boris is the catalyst that is spurring people into activity.

Treason May was a rabid remainer, a total EU stooge working for the EU and not for the UK people. Thank God she's gone! She has done untold damage already to us all in dragging this whole process out for 3 years and ensuring that people didn't make the appropriate preparations in a timely fashion.

It's what I have been saying all along. Prepare! I said, prepare. They didn't listen! And now it's too late. Too late!
