How hot do you like it?

The spiciness of food, that is.

I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food, I like my flavors very mild. But my son and his dad can order the hottest chicken wings on the menu and 'suffer' through the effects of them. Faces turning red, eyes watering, pounding on the table like they're in complete agony, then pick up another hot wing and continue to go at it again. I really don't know how they stand it. It's like they enjoy the torture. And they'll challenge themselves by not drinking anything to 'douse the fire', they try and see how long they can stand it before caving in.

What about you? Do you like your food as hot as it can be? Or are you a "wimp" like me?

'Korma' is just about right for me. I just don't see the point of eating food so spicy that it hurts.

Personally I love Thai food (as bought in Thailand) which is pretty hot. I grow chilli in my garden to add to any of the western versions of Thai food.

Plus there is nothing like a wonderful spicy Vindaloo

A life without chilli is a life without meaning.

I make a pretty decent korma too, I love the taste of the spices but the heat of chilli seems completely pointless to me.

I dont mind spicyness but I want to taste the actual food not just the spice so spicy but not overpowering for me.

Not very is my answer even korma is too much spice for me. Don't even add salt to most foods I like to taste the foods not the seasoning.

Madras. Anything milder seems a waste to me
