Candlewick bedspreads. You could pick out the threads and leave wee holes

We went to a B&B in Wales in the 90's and they had one on the bed, we couldn't stop laughing
They were a god send to our parents back in the 60's though!

I forgot about the flannelette sheets Morticia! They were comfy though

Blankets in those days. Not such a thing as a duvet.

Aww they were lovely and soft, I liked them, I remember an orange one when I was growing up. Orange was quite the favourite along with the pink in the photo.

Candlewick bedspreads cost a small fortune these days we still have a few they make great dog blankets once puppies get past that chew a bed stage. Really washable and last years. We got ours from jumble sales and second hand from ebay. but as I said new they cost a bomb.

I think most people in those days had candlewick bed spreads, we did, they were very popular.

Flannelette sheets are still a big seller on ebay, and if i had some i would be using them in winter. Its nothing to be ashamed of
