Swimmy, with respect, the days when we are told what to do by any other country has gone! It ended when we left the EU. So Japan thinking it can lord it over us with a 'warning' can just do one.

We don't BOW to anyone except in return as a matter of politeness.

Well we already had one as part of the EU.
I do wish you'd stop posting utter drivel and lies.
I've asked you nicely a few times now and yet you persist.

It might have escaped your attention, but the UK has left the EU.
That means that there would not otherwise have been a trade deal in place.
It's not that difficult to understand.

Wrong.
We have been through this more than once.
Why do you ignore the outcomes and keep posting lies?
It is better, not worse - and no (again) the restrictions are not worse.

Again wrong, same as above.
You couldn't supply a link last time I asked you to prove that this statement wasn't a lie.

So?
Any boost is better than a loss - and you're forgetting that this was compared to the deal we had as part of the EU so it's a real win!

FullFact says this:
"DIT estimated the 2019 EU-Japan trade deal would add somewhere between £2.1 billion and £3.0 billion to annual GDP after 15 years in 2017 prices, relative to a scenario where no deal was agreed. Its central estimate was a £2.6 billion increase after 15 years."

Don't worry, the "warning" is just fake news from somebody insistent that Brexit is somehow the wrong thing for the UK.
The fact is that Japan want us to join CTPP, an alliance of 11 countries - who are amenable to us joining.
The EU though ................ nope, not even a thought.

This is the latest on "negotiations":
"The two sides have begun work on the text of an agreement on the level competitive playing field, and are close to finalizing a joint document covering state aid, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly."

Don't pay it too much heed; pay particular attention to the weasle words "according to people familiar with the discussions".

The deal could be "dead in the water" according to sources close to the EU-UK talks:

No country in their right mind should be trading their sovereignty for reductions in tariffs or their territorial waters.

I really hope this is true - we should tear up the withdrawal bill now and walk away.

Good evening everybody. I haven't been around for a while and I see that you guys are still on the subjects.
Congratiolations so far for the development, Japan deal, Canada deal seems likely, strong negotiation position to the EU, very good!

It seems things just develop as well as we all hoped and you were promised. I did not find any reliable news about current negotiations progress but as someone stated E.Macron will bring us all the no-deal by his veto concearning fisheries.

If he sticks to that then a no-deal is inevitable and we all should thank him. So merci bien Monsieur Macron
