Change of plan, this corner moulding that will cover the corner join is 25mm in each direction which means the cladding can be mechanically fixed underneath, and adhesive used at the other side, sorted.

I was going to suggest that too Spitty, but if the hole hasn't been countersunk I doubt that the screw would crush the wood and sink below the surface, especially if that frame is hardwood.

iIt's a bit frustrating, I need a length of 95mm X 5.5mm to complete UPVc to go across the top to slide into the recess on the soffit board, then (where the packers are) a 10mm square extrusion, meaning no silicone sealant required, but tried three suppliers and all seem to be closed today.
