Mick Ronson

Tonight I'm going see a theatre production about Mick Ronson who was one of Hull's most famous musicians. He made his name performing with David Bowie in the early 1970's with Bowie's band The Spiders From Mars and this production focuses on Ronson's life until his death in 1994.
There is a live band, film show and a play featuring actors on the stage too in this 2 1/2 hour performance. Looking forward to this very much.
I'll talk about it more tomorrow.

He also produced Morrissey's Your Arsenal album, and played lead guitar on this track ....

And Bowie and Ronson produced and arranged Lou Reed's Transformer.

Bowie always referred to Ronson as My Jeff Beck.

You can't get much higher praise than that.

I love Ronsons style and sound, and how he discretely uses harmonics on a few of Bowie's tracks.
Very understated imo...
