Re: Pictures you love
Floating in the clouds

Half way through our Bass Strait crossing we stopped at Deal Island, one of the hidden gems in the Kent Group. Friendly volunteer caretakers fed us cups of tea, the Bennetts Wallabies hung around for photo shoots, and the walk to the lighthouse was a heart starter. But on the way back to the boats the fog rolled in. As we crested the top of the escarpment the bay was shrouded in mist. It was easy to see how so many vessels foundered around the islands due to just such conditions. With our catamaran equipped with GPS, chart plotters, depth sounders and radar I can only marvel at the skills of the early sailors who plied these waters and brought their ships safely to harbour.
