This costs vending machine companies millions, each time they change coinage more redundancies losing two where my husband works this time.

I agree Mags. I only read recently that all the vending machines, shopping trolleys, car parking meters, and so on, can never be altered in time, even though they will be working flat out.

It is going to be a very costly business to alter them all. Just think how many places there are out there that need a pound coin!!!

Come to think of it - will all these 'self service' machines in the shops take the new polymer notes or will they have to be altered again when the notes change?? Don't use them so don't know if they take the new fivers.

The coin mechs cost a fortune, if they have to change all of them in his company that's about 500 coin mechs, they can either buy the coin mechs or keep the machine fillers on. They've no choice it has to me redundancy and buy the coin mechs.

These days they are working on a very tight margin too tight to spend the money on new coin mechs.

The new style coin mechs can be programmed to accept any type of coin, token even washers
We have been programming our mechs since late last year to accept the new pound coin

Re: Changes to come

Hi

I got one of the new ones today, but it is dated 2016 not 2017.

I have it in a plastic wallet now, just in case it is worth anything.
