Group bookings at pubs in New South Wales will be reduced from 20 people to a maximum of 10, under new COVID-19 rules decided at a special meeting of State Cabinet ministers this evening.

The ABC understands large venues will not be allowed to have more than 300 patrons, under the new restrictions to be unveiled tomorrow by the State Government.

Sources have told the ABC there will also be stricter requirements for venues to collect contact details of patrons in case of an outbreak.

The changes follow the emergence of a cluster at the Crossroads Hotel in Sydney's south-west, which is so far linked to 21 confirmed coronavirus cases.

It also follows a police investigation into the Crossroads Hotel, with authorities expressing "concern" some customers were not asked for their contact details before entering the venue.

Sydney's The Star casino has been fined $5,000 for breaching social-distancing rules just hours after confirming a patron who attended the venue this month tested positive for coronavirus.

Liquor and Gaming NSW issued the fine after groups of patrons were seen standing and mingling while consuming alcohol at the venue on Saturday night.

Under COVID-19 public health orders, customers must be seated to consume or be served alcohol.

This isn't flu. It affects the body in a different way. Some suspect it's a disease of the blood. No doctor can at this stage say with any confidence that someone will recover after six months. People are ending up with heart conditions and lung damage.

A massive traffic jam blocked roads around a pop-up coronavirus testing clinic in Picton, as concerns deepen about a growing cluster of new cases in Sydney's south-west.

By 10.00am, the snarl stretched at least 1.4km as people responded to pleas to get tested and isolate if they had visited several infected businesses in the area.

So far, 28 COVID-19 cases have been linked to an outbreak at the Crossroads Hotel in nearby Casula, after health authorities announced seven fresh infections today.

However, there are now major concerns around another local pub, the Picton Hotel, after an infected person visited the gaming room there several times last week.

Finally the UK is giving China the finger!

News this morning that 5G will NOT be used in the UK and contracts with Huawei will be cancelled. All 5G equipment to be removed by 2025.

This decision has been made as it's finally been recognised that China will use all it's resources to gain control!

About time too!!!

Interesting interview on the radio this morning with a director of ICU in Melbourne about the verying worrying increase in cases in NSW and Victoria.

He gave some statistics: 80% of Covid cases in Australian ICU survive compared to 44% in China and 40% in the UK. He said that these figures are partly due to the other country's ICUs being overwhelmed.

On the downside two more covid deaths occurred in Victoria yesterday bringing the total deaths to 110.

Almost all the new cases in New South are from pubs.
Did the govt allow carte blanche at pubs too soon. We all know when we lay into the amber liquid or Chardonnay that social distancing is merely a buzz word and everyone wants to get pally.
