I blame the scales.
I'm the very opposite. I lose 0.907 kg overnight.

Perfectly possible if we make seconds a little shorter in length,
as presently there are 86,400 seconds in a day.
I believe that the French did look into metricising the time shortly after their revolution (during which time they also standardised the other unots of measurement), but it didn't take off.

I was responding to a comment from another poster. But thank you for your useful reminder. I'm sure you're glad to have got that weight off your chest.

Or yours. After all, as you know, the metric system was originally intended to be defined in terms of distances from the pole to the equator. Since time was also defined in terms of 1 rev of the earth, which will also have a distance, then time and weight could be viewed as synonymous. Ie, 1kg being the weight of water in a cube of side x seconds of equatorial travel.

Re: Weighing machine

Turned our scales over and changed to metric. Reading 79.1kg. Checked BMI chart. 25.2 and overweight. I think I will switch back to imperial.

I know all of that.
But we were supposed to be discussing scales according the moderator. Can we remain on that topic?

Yes, and there is then the additional problem of decimalising weeks and months to fit in with a year. Then, to spoil it all, along would come a leap year.
